Engine Edge

SPXXL's composite accuracy score measuring classification quality, structure recommendations, and calibration across confidence levels.

Engine Edge is SPXXL's headline performance metric — a single score (0-100) that quantifies how well the classification engine performs across all dimensions.

Engine Edge combines three components:

  • Classification Edge: Accuracy of session type predictions weighted by confidence
  • Structure Edge: How often the recommended option structure would have been profitable
  • Calibration: Whether high-confidence calls are actually more accurate than low-confidence ones

Ratings:

  • ELITE (85+): Exceptional — engine is outperforming in all dimensions
  • STRONG (70-84): Reliable — strong classification accuracy with good calibration
  • SOLID (55-69): Functional — useful for directional bias but less precise
  • DEVELOPING (40-54): Building — not yet sufficient for high-conviction trades
  • WEAK (<40): Recalibrating — engine accuracy below useful threshold

Engine Edge is updated daily at 4:05 PM ET after each session is graded. The metric uses a rolling window that weights recent sessions more heavily. Traders can view the full Engine Edge breakdown on the Track Record page.

For 0DTE traders, Engine Edge answers the critical question: "Should I trust today's classification?" When the Engine Edge is ELITE or STRONG, the classification has demonstrated reliable predictive power.
